HP ESXi 4.1 install CD

We are primarily an HP datacenter. I am aware of the HP ESXi install ISO. I think the only alteration is an inclusion of HP specific CIM providers. So going forward I could use VMware software and update CIM drivers seperately or just use the all inclusive HP install software.

I kind of was onboard when there was talk about embedded ESXi but, I really don't like the idea of vendor specific versions of ESX software as much. I think I'm leaning toward keeping the CIM updates as a seperate process and sticking with VMware ISOs.

Does anyone have additional thoughts about this?

There was a discussion about this some days ago, which you may want to read - http://communities.vmware.com/message/1657795

My personal preference is to install the "original" VMware image and add CIM providers as needed.

I don't know that there is any difference. It just requires an extra step during the install. HP, Dell, IBM, etc. could not release a disk that didn't meet some rather strict requirements. It wouldn't be in HP's interest to release a bad install. ?????
