Had this in the wrong forum...
After configurating a new esx cluster with the new V2 Procs that came out and setting the bios of the host power management to be controlled by the OS. (As recommended by ESX)
When i look at the power management tab in vcenter i see this.
Is this normal and expected? Im use to seeing things like Intel Enhanced speed Step or AMD PowerNow in the technology feild.
Am i missing a setting or is this correct?
For maximum performance, I would set the following power options in the BIOS;
HP Power Profile = Maximum Performance
--- Disables all power management options that may negatively affect performance
HP Power Regulator = HP Static High Performance Mode
--- Keeps processors in their maximum power/performance state
I should have 14x HP DL380p G8 (E5-2667 v2, 3.30GHz) next week, so I'll post what I see with mine ... just waiting for my network connections and then I can test.
What are you talking about? This is a VMware question not a HP question. This is about how VMware power management reads from a servers BIOS and how it is displayed.
Since this is a VMware question and not an HP question. I found my answer on a VMware related site located here.
I hope better one day if you actual participate in the forum with something useful at one point.
