Hi all!
Our HP DL380 G6 just arrived and we quickly put ESX4.1 on it, but someone mentioned that HP may have had a special version for our G6.
Can anyone point us in the right direction?
We did find a version of ESX 4.0 U1, but was curious what the best path would be?
Thanks!
You can find the HP version in HP's SW depot at https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=HPVM06
The title is still "ESXi 4.0 and updates", however when you scroll down you will see version 4.1

Just be aware that HP doesn't have the best record when it comes to people using their customized release of ESX/ESXi... I would either wait a while, install to a flash drive, or onto a test/dev host before moving to it on production hosts. I would even go so far to say that unless you actually NEED the extra items the customized release gives, go with the general release (from VMware's site)...

Personally I've never had a problem with the HP versions of ESXi 4.x. It works great on our DL360 G6 and BL490c G6 blades. Of course any new software release should be tested prior to rolling it out in production.
