Has anyone got any experiance of this issue.
I am running a HP proliant DL360 with intergrated p400i raid controller and battery cache.
The server has had the HP update disc run and all drivers and firmware applied but i am still getting the warning even though the firmware driver is the latest on HP's website.
I have tried a vmware image and installed the CMS and still the same, the included screenshot is from the server which is running the HP release of EXSi which i prefer to do.
Any ideas or is this nothing to worry about and if so can i disable the warning?
Thanks Adrian.
See attached, don't worry about the ZIP file bundle number the VIB's inside are the correct ones.
These two are the important ones;
HP are just clowns with their version numbering;
v1.5 is Oct 2012;

Better screenshot.
What version of the HP bundle did you install?
If it was the latest version 1.6, then there is a known bug (see link below). Simply remove version 1.6 and redeploy version 1.5 to resolve the issue.
I posted this yesterday;

I followed your advice but when done i could not see the system information at all.
After looking around I have seen there is a new HP version:
VMware-ESXi-5.1.0-799733-HP-5.34.23.iso
File size:332048384
File type: iso
Release Date:2013-02-19
Build Number:799733
so have used this but the same problem existis.
The vim list for Hp returned the following.

Remove the faulty VIB's, reboot the host, reinstall the working version 1.5, reboot the host again and update / reset your hardware sensors.
Do you need me to attach the version 1.5 VIB's? And do you need syntax to do this from the console?
Cheers,
Jon
if you could attach the 1.5 vibs as I can't find them on the hp website,
I have been using the console to do this with "software vib remove" and "install" ?

With the HP image being problematic is it worth using or would it be better to use the VMimage and then update using the files from the website?
Many thanks
Adrian.
My preference is to use the VMware image and have control of what drivers and extrensions go into the build - more work, but at least I know exactly what has been layered on top.
If you want to use the HP image then use this one and patch from here;
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/software/vmware/esxi-image.html
ESXi 5.0 U1 Oct 2012 - Download here
Interestingly, HP show this build (which is the one that I would actually use If use it were available) ... but they provide no link to download it;

Thanks André - that's awesome!
Sorry to hijack this thread, but have you done any testing to determine if you need any of the additional HP updates if you deploy the "complete bundle".
So in this case, the HP ESXi 5.0 complete bundle update 1.5 is deployed ... but there are still some missing updates shown. We obviously don't want v1.6 as it is faulty, but do we need the utility bundle and the management bundles? Also, do we need both the management bundle and the agentless management bundle?
I plan to do my own testing, but thought I would ask first.
Cheers,
Jon
I only deployed the complete HP image on Gen8 Hosts so far, for other installations I usually use the ESXi-Customizer-PS script (from the blog I mentioned before) to create an installation image with the add-ons and drivers I need. Usually I create an image with the latest VMware patches and the HP Offline Bundle and NMI sourcing driver.
André
Thanks for all your help it really is appreciated.
It's good to see those Green Ticks !
Regards
Adrian.
