HELP: ESX 4.1 Upgrade failed, now server reboots itself.

We just applied ESX 4.1 upgrade over 4.0 Update 2 using esxupdate.

All seems to go well. We rebooted the server when it was done and now when it boots up it gets as far as "Starting Path Claiming and SCSI Device discovery" and reboots. We can boot into Troubleshooting mode which is ESX 4.0 but get hundreds and hundreds of "Error during version check" listings.

I've searched but since the update is so new there's not much out there.

All storage is local SAS HDD's, no SAN's/iSCSI but we do conenct to 1 NFS share for the odd backup test using GhettoVCB.

Any ideas? I don't know what logs to even check or where to start.

We used the update manager and it worked fine. You should just reinstall the server with the normal iso image. In my oppinion, a Bug search would use to much time...
