Have some PSOD problems with two DL 380 Gen 9 servers (look at picture). Any suggestions what it can be?

Hi,

It's hard to say without knowing your configuration and use(VSAN?).

we had some problems with Gen9 servers.

If you have a support contract with VMware I strongly suggest you open a case with VMware.

what worked for us -

  • Make sure you upgrade the host to the latest HPE Custom Image for VMware ESXi 6.0 U2 (December 2016) - there is newer fc driver in here that solve us problems with MS Cluster vMotion.
  • Install Patch 3 (or newer). P3 solve some of the problems we had with vSAN. we work with build 4510822 but there is new patch. search here.
  • Make sure the bios is configured correctly. use this guide.

hope this help!

If you have core dump file or vmkernel log attach those

/var/core here vmkernel-zdump file should be there

/var/log/vmkernel

and provide date and time

Can you please share the Processor info of the ESXi host and BIOS. It is a PF (Page Fault) Exception 14. Can you also drop me an email with the coredump which will be in /var/core folder.

Thanks,

MS
