GPU PCI passthrough only possible with Embedded Video Disabled (HPE ProLiant)

Hello together

I am running ESXI (7.0.3) on two HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen10 servers. Each server has an NVIDIA Quadro P2000 graphics card installed, which I would like to passthrough to a virtual machine.

This only works if the BIOS option "Video Options" is set to "Add-in Video Enabled, Embedded Video Disabled".

Otherwise the error message appears when the VM is to be started

This is annoying, so the server no longer displays an image after the post-screen, since the integrated graphics unit is disabled.

However, the PCI device is recognized the same with both options.

Once with the "Embedded Video Disabled" option

and once without the option

The server boots with UEFI and has all the latest firmware installed through the ProLiant Support Pack.

Does anyone have a solution to the problem?

Thank you and best regards
