Freshening up a VM after a P2V with changed blocks from physical machine???

A P2V of Windows 2003 server into a VM on ESXi 5.  A systems adminstrator is asking about a way to "freshen up the VM with the changed blocks from the physical box.   I have never heard of this.  Unless its folder by folder or file by file.  Anyone else have any ideas?

a clever robocopy cmd could do what he is asking for
a refresh based on blocks would not make sense when the VM has been used already
