FreeNAS 9.10, ESXi 6.5 & LSI 9211-8i - Error during installation (CAM status: SCSI Status Error)

Hello,

I have Thinkserver TS140 with LSI 9211-8i in IT mode and I'm trying to install FreeNAS 9.10 on ESXi 6.5 and installation of FreeNAS gets stuck on this

CDB: 42 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 18 00 (da0:mpt0:0:0:0): CAM status: SCSI Status Error (da0:mpt0:0:0:0): SCSI status: Check Condition (da0:mpt0:0:0:0): SCSI sense: ILLEGAL REQUEST asc:26,0 (Invalid field in parameter list) (da0:mpt0:0:0:0): Command byte 0 is invalid (da0:mpt0:0:0:0): Error 22, Unretryable error

Found discussion on Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/homelab/comments/5m8ewe/freenas_910_esxi_65_lsi_92118i_error_during/ and for me the only solution was to remove 6.5 and install first version 6.0 and that only helped but no web access to ESXi.

Any solution to this problem? Do developers know about this issue?

Yes, this has been noticed in the FreeNAS community also.

Move the installation to IDE-controller and after some complaints from the FreeNAS it will continue the installation
