FreeBSD and Fedora 64 bits

I am using vSphere Client to connect to ESXi 4. When trying to install FreeBSD 8-RELEASE 64 bits or Fedora 12 64 bits, both operating systems did not boot. I could not install them with ESXi 4, even if I choose the 64 bits option while installing with vSphere Client. I only could install 32 bits versions.

Does vmware ESXi support 64 bits for FreeBSD or Fedora?

The E5405 does support VT-x (see ). Therefore, it supports 64-bit guests. You may have to enable VT-x in your BIOS. See .

I found a Virtualization Technology parameter disabled in the BIOS, is this what I need?

Yes. Turn it on, save the BIOS settings, and then turn off all power to the computer. Wait a few seconds, and power the computer on again. You should then be able to install 64-bit guests.
