Flow Control

We have been requested by Cisco TAC to enable flow control on all our servers. Is there a way to enable flow control on our ESX 4 servers or the VM's themselves? We tried searching for this but we couldn't find anything for vSphere 4. Flow control is already enabled on the switches.

The only thing that you can control is outbound traffic from your the virtual network interfaces on your ESX hosts - this can be done at the port or port group or at the virtual switch.- you can set limits for average rate, burst size and peak rate -

Sorry about the delay. We checked our Cisco switches and they verified that flow control is on on the ESX servers. So, flow control is on by default. Smiley Happy
