Flow Control Configuration (Using Etherchannel)

Hi there,

Was wondering if someone could offer some advice,  When configuring an etherchannel for use with NFS is it recommended to set the flow control settings on both the physical interface AND the port-channel or just the port-channel?

Are there any documents which specifically state how this should be configured?

Hi!

This depends per storage vendor. I suggest you look for a best practice guide from your vendor on vSphere.

NetApp for example recommends configuring the endpoints, ESX servers, and NetApp arrays with the flow control set to "send." Here is the whitepaper.
