I've noticed in recent versions the flat files for VMDK's have gone away and we are back to the old way of doing it with just the VMDK. What version did they change this back on? I haven't found much info on the interwebs about it.
Can you please clarify your question? There are still two files for each virtual disk, a descriptor/header file and a data (flat/delta) file, although only the one without flat or delta shows up in the datastore browser.

Ah ok, I guess I didn't realize that only the descriptor file shows up in the datastore browser. I guess that is what threw me off in that I didn't see them.
