I am using vSphere 5.0 with ESX 4.1. Through MOB I could go to: Virtual machine -> Layout -> snapshot -> snapshot [snapshot id] -> snapshotFile to get the list of files. Is that good enough? One problem I have seen is there are no delta vmdk files listed in the snapshotFile object mentioned above. I came across lot of other posts which do not use the path above but instead go through LayoutEx and try to correlate it somehow. The problem with that I have come across is if snapshot id is, say, 29, I will get vmsn file with vm name and id but there is no correlation between vmdk\delta vmdk and snapshot id. There is no correct method for correlating files, is it?
