File transfer speed SLOW

Hey Guys,

Here is the deal I have a ESXi 4.1 and I am using a Supermico MB with Intel 82576 nic (this is an approved nic). That hooks into a linksys Switch 16 port 10/100. Now the VM's are running but when I use RDP and try an transfer from a non VM the transfer speed is like anywhere from 250 KB to 1.5 MB this seems slow and odd.

ANY THOUGHTS?

Couple things to add, when I login to the server using vsphere the console is really slow to up date the mouse, I have vmtools installed but it's like a pain to use it. On top of all this, if I use a ftp client inside the RDP session the rates are fast like nothing's the problem.

Thanks in advanced,

Have you enabled portfast on the physical switch ports where the ESX is connected?

Are you trying to transfer files via file explorer or within the RDP session to your local machine?

What OS is the guest? Is it Server 2008 R2? If so may need to manualy apply the video drivers from C:\Program Files\Common Files\VMware\Drivers\wddm_video
