Hi, this post may be pointless but I thought I'd try.
We lost fibre connectivity to one LUN earlier this week. The machines on the servers that lost the lun obviously went down, but a few others on the LUN were fine. As were the guests that were not on the LUN/Datastore. Unfortunately, when this happened we lost connectivity to the hosts that had lost access to the LUN. They slowly went offline in vcenter and we could not login to them directly via vcenter. What we ended up doing was just sending shutdown commands to thee guests and rebooting the servers. What I am wondering is if there was any other options. I'm not sure why we completely lost connectivity to the hosts since network was fine (ping times under 1ms to guests).
Any thoughts or pointers would be great. I can provide more information if needed. I'm just trying to learn from the experience.
