I'm looking for a way to use multiple fax modems in 2 different VMs and allow them to be able to vMotion around. I was just about set to buy the Digi USB Anywhere when it was brought to my attention that it doesn't support modems: http://www.digi.com/support/kbase/kbaseresultdetl?id=3039
I am also going to need to use one USB Dongle, so I don't want to go with a pure ethernet-to-serial option to connect external modems, and I don't want to pay a huge amount.
It looks like I could go with a USB Anywhere and then either a USB to Serial box for external modems or possibly even a USB to Modem device, RapidPort/4, but now we are already at a couple thousand to get it going.
Anyone out there with a functioning solution so at least I know what will work reliable so I can decide if it is worth the cost?
