When I try to take a snapshot of a particular VM with the "Quiesce guest file system " parameter enabled and "Snapshot the virtual machine’s memory" parameter disabled It fails with:
Failed to start quiescing operation in the virtual machine. Quiesce operation already in progress.
There was no backup being done at the time (in fact this is causing the Veeam backups to fail on that VM) and I can't think what else may be quiescing the file system (is there any way to find out?). The Windows Server 2003 R2 VM has since been rebooted-as has the host but I'm still consistently getting this issue. Interestingly trying the same thing on another VM with the same guest OS doesn't give this problem. I'm using (Updated) ESXi-5.1.0-799733-standard and advice would be appreciated.
