FT only can be used in shared storage and the environment have more than 2 hosts. FT cannot be used if the datastore is local storage.

The vSphere Availability guide should give you the stated requirements. While a 2 hosts cluster isnt optimal for FT, it will work. If you lose a host, then FT will not be able to spin up another secondary VM.

I've read this article and it says nothing that can not be internal disk.

Do you have any documentation stating that they can not!?
