External USB HD not detected by Virtual Machine

We had this external hard drive working great and was a backup share to many files.  However, we recently relocated the equipment and had to shut down both Vsphere servers we had.  After connecting everything back up in new location, all VM"s kicked off just fine with no problems, however I cannot see my external hard drive that is physically connected via the front usb ports of the host server.

I'm not sure how to get the VM to mount a USB device or to make sure the host server is recognizing it.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I've had a similair issue with 2 servers.. one 4.1.0, 260247 and one from 5.0. Updated the 5.0 machine to U2 but same issue happens.

LSUSB returns nothing.

./sbin/services.sh restart doesnt help either.

Removed and Adding the USB controlled with no luck. One thing to is a USB keyboard working in the BIOS but as soon as esxi loads.. the keyboard stops working and you are unable to get in to the local console on the server.

Tried a USB HDD and a USB memory key... no luck =\

Adrian
