Export Config / Inventory of ESXi 5 / Migration of a whole DataCenter

Hi All,

here is a short Screenshot of our Situation:

We want to move a whole DataCenter to another Datancenter, but without moving any Equipment.

At the new Datacenter the Complete Equipment will be new.

Therefore we are planning to replicate the Datastores of all ou ESXi Servers to the new Destination to just Power on the new Machines.

The Problem now is that we have to Export all the COnfiguration of our ESXi Servers including which Machines are running on them, because if we are not able to we have to add all the VMs manually through Datastore Management, but thats not really reliable.

So my Question is:

Is there any way to get this to work??

Thanks and Regards

Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,

The best way i've found to export config and inventory of your entire VMware infrastructure is using RVTools.

http://www.robware.net/

You can export this to .csv and use it to reimport manually (or via PowerCLI) if need be.

Hope that helps.
