Existing VMFS datastores not recognised

Hi,

I have a two host test environment, which I upgraded from vSphere 4.1 to 5 last year. I wanted to compare this with a fresh install, so I blew one of the hosts away and reinstalled ESXi 5. It now won't recognise the three datastores previously attached (ISCSI hosted on NetApp). They are still available on the second host.

The LUNs show as mounted in the Storage Adapters section, but it doesn't seem to recognise the VMFS partition. Here's what I've tried so far, but have had no success.

1. The LUNs are visible under the "Add Storage" section, but I get an error when I try to add them in.

2. I've shutdown the secondary host but the new build host still cannot access the datastores.

3. I've removed the initiator group and recreated it on the storage array with new ISCSI initiator names. No success.

4. I've offlined the LUNs and brought them back online. No success.

Cheers,

Graeme

I just sorted it!

Turns out I had enabled jumbo frames on the VMKs for ISCSI, but forgot to do it at the vSwitch level!

All working now.

Cheers,
Graeme
