Is there a limitation on the maximum number of Exchange 2010 mailbox servers in a DAG on ESX or ESXi? According to VMware's best practices guide for Exchange 2010, there is no limit mentioned. However, Exchange 2010 uses the Windows failover clustering service on the back-end, and VMware's Windows clustering for ESX guide states that the cluster must have no more than two nodes to be supported.
Does this limit apply to Exchange 2010 as well? For reference, the environment we're looking at will have four mailbox nodes in a single DAG. Each will run on its own dedicated ESXi host, and each mailbox VM will have its own dedicated storage mapped via RDM. The ESXi hosts themselves will not be clustered. Thanks for the help!
