Ethernet SMS Modem

Hi,

We are about to deploy a SCOM 2007 infrastructure on our ESX Cluster and I was wondering has anybody had any experience connecting an Ethernet SMS Modem to a vSphere 4.0 Cluster or if anybody has any advice on this with respect to SCOM 2007 on vSphere4.0.

If the device will be communicating with a VM then there should be no difference from Physical. My experience is with Network USB which uses software running on the VM to connect to the USB device across the network so that it appears to be a local USB device. Since it is software that makes it work you will not be able to use it at the ESXi host level.
