Esxtop on 7.0U1 won't start in interactive mode.

Build 16850804
I start esxtop from the command line, no switches, I get batch mode output. i try esxtop -b, I get batch mode output.

Can anybody get interactive mode output from esxtop? I am performing this from ssh, not ipmi console or direct connect.

Hey amdjfk,

I just tried from the ESXi with the same version only using esxtop and I get the interactive mode. If I specify the -b I get the batch mode.

This looks like a bug to me.

It gets weirder. It only happens with ssh in Windows susbsystem for Linux 2, on Windows 10 ver 1903. Using putty, I get the interactive screen.

Wild.

Oh wait,

Then probably WSL does not have all the complete feature for running it interactively that is the reason. I just saw on a post that in some cases you need to run export TERM=xterm for it to be able to run the interactive mode. It sets the terminal emulator in linux but I found a reddit post where they used it in WSL: WSL Terminal Screen 256 Colors : bashonubuntuonwindows
