Hi

I plan to install Esxi7U3 on SD Card or Flash Drive only with no Local Hard disk.

What is recommendation for installing Esxi7U3?

Thanks

Hi @soroushebrahimi

ESXi 7.0 requires a boot disk of at least 32 GB of persistent storage such as HDD, SSD, or NVMe. Use USB, SD and non-USB flash media devices only for ESXi boot bank partitions. So USB and SD-Cards are no longer recommended for vSphere installation.

Lab environment yes, production environment no.

I would be careful even in Lab, because the SD cards/flash will get crushed with the new logging.  Getting a PCI NVME card is not very expensive to be honest.  Personally, even in my lab, I don't want to constantly be rebuilding my host because I'm frying SD Cards all the time.
