Esxi 8 Dell Version compatbility with Esxi Essential Kit

Greetings.
My company purchased a Dell PowerEdge 750xs server on which we installed a evalution version of Esxi 8 customized by DELL. We already have a server in the company equipped with a version of Esxi7 with a free license.

For our needs we would like to purchase a license of VMware vSphere 8 Essentials Kit. Will this license be accepted by the DELL version?
Thanks for the help

VMware unfortunately stopped offering the free Hypervisor as well as the Essentials Kit.
With the recent change in licensing, only subscription licensing is available, and ESXi is now licensed by CPU cores, with a minimum requirement of 16 cores per CPU socket.

Depending on your hosts number of CPUs and cores you may want to look at Essentials Plus, or at the Standard edition, which may be less expensive in this case. Note that vCenter Server and production support is included in the core subscriptions, and does not need to be purchased separately.

Its also worth noting that VMware vSphere Essentials Plus (VVEP) is only sold as a 96 core pack. This means in many cases VMware vSphere Standard (VVS) @ $50 per core MSRP, actually works out cheaper.

For example, you could license 6 x ESXi hosts with a single Xeon Processor with 16 cores each (totalling 96 cores) for the same price as vSphere Essentials Plus (which only licences 3 hosts).

Obviously this depends on your workloads and requirements but there's certainly some room for movement if you optimise your core counts
