Esxi 6.5 does not start when clicked Reboot

Hi,

I did installed Esxi 6.5. I am facing problem in restarting the ESXI 6.5

I did went into Esxi 6.5 vsphere web client and clicked on reboot. The problem is when I attach monitor to my ESXI I can see a below message

" Shutting down APs....

This system has been halted.

It is safe to use the reset or power button to reboot.

"

I was expecting that when user clicks on Reboot in vsphere web client on ESXI 6.5, it will shut down and reboot automatically. Can you please tell me what I am doing wrong here as it is becoming hard to connect ESXI with monitor every time.

What hardware do you use?

Such an issue could be related to the host's BIOS version, or some BIOS settings, see e.g. http://www.vbrain.info/2017/10/28/gigabyte-brix-intel-nuc-gen67-esxi-shutdown-issue-fixed/

Adding to Andre's reply, please update BIOS firmware's to latest version and check your hardware compatibility versions w.r.t ESXi 6.5.
