Esxi 5.5 to 6.5 upgrade NIC lost CPD Details and communication

Hello,

After upgrading one of my host from 5.5-4179633 to 6.5-10390116 my two physical NICs lost access to the network.  The physical adapters are showing connected @ 1000Mb however no observed IP range is displaying and VMs tied to the vDS that the NICs  are associated with are no longer pinging.  In addition, the adapters are reporting "CDP is not available on this physical network adapter".  This wasn't the case prior to the 5.5 upgrade.

Host Details:

Dell PowerEdge R720.

Host was upgraded using the DellEMC ESXI-6.5U2-8294253-A00 ISO and then patched via Updated manager to 6.5-10390116

I have other NICs on this host, different model, that do not seem to be impacted by this upgrade.

Below are the physical NIC details and from what I can tell they are in the supported hardware list from VMware:

Intel Corp 82545GB Gigabit Network Connection

Driver Info:

Driver: igb

Firmware Version 1.77

Version: 5.3.3

It seems to be a compatibility issue. However, to be sure, please run lspci, and lspci -vvv from the host's command line, and post the output for the network adapter to see which exact model it is.
