Esxi 5.0/Vcenter logs

Hi,

I am trying to dive to be ready for troubleshooting.

I've read:

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=102793...

Is this the best way to get "all" logs files from vcenter and esxi host?

how do you usually get logs information from vcenter and esxi host?

As said, I would like to know the best basic techniques for getting logs files?

Is it uncommon to use linux command to access them? is it possible?

Thanks in advance. You are being a great help to me.

I am not sure if I understand your question correctly..

The KB which you have mentioned is to collect the diagnostics information which will requested by Vmware Technical Support team when your are opening a case with them.

If you are interested in knowing the logs files location for ESXi/vCentercheck this KB

You can use Winscp or fastSCP if you want copy the logs from the ESXi hosts.

Thank for the  reply,

Although I had not tested it yet, I thought vmware administrators could use that logs,

On the other hand, where are the vcenter logs?

Thanks again
