New Update 3 of ESXi 4.1 released 8/30/2012 has an invalid link to the VSphere client OR the client has not been released yet.
http://vsphereclient.vmware.com/vsphereclient/7/9/9/3/4/5/VMware-viclient-all-4.1.0-799345.exe
Receives a 'file not found' error from every browser, computer, and mobile device I have tried it on (many).
Where can this be downloaded or acquired?
Agreed. The link does not work.
Please can someone @VMware check this out?
Check out the link for downloading VMware-viclient-all-4.1.0-799345.exe

OK. That is not a problem for me as I have a VMware logon.
However, it isn't all that practical for everyone that simply need to download a VI client to access a vSphere environment (developers etc) create their own account on the VMware website simply just to download the v4.1U3 client.
Sure the logins are free etc etc but it's still a hastle all the same.

This in turn links you through to http://vsphereclient.vmware.com/vsphereclient/7/9/9/3/4/5/VMware-viclient-all-4.1.0-799345.exe which results in "File not found" Try for yourself!!!
All other v4.1 & v5.0 clients download ok from their respective http://vsphereclient.vmware.com/vsphereclient/.... links, it's only v4.1U3 that does not.
Smacks of someone within VMware not uploading the client to correct place....
In addition, when I go to the link, I get
So we are still dead in the water.
Anyone from VMWare want to pipe in and fix the problem?
Regarding,
"you can be able to download the vsphere client by using the URL
This is not correct, it links to the "File Not Found" page.
I had to check my Profile and edit a few things then it let me download... could be a country error or not enough info as i corrected it all and updated all my info.
Just came across the same problem, the client for update 2 will connect to the update 3 ESXi 4.1.0 - VMware-viclient-all-4.1.0-491557 was the one I used - hope this helps.
Just to clarify, my ESXi server is running 4.1.0 update 3 (build 800380) and the vSphere Client is 4.1.0 build 491557.
http://ftpsite.vmware.com/download/vSphereClient/VMware-viclient-all-4.1.0-799345.exe was given to me by a support guy to get the client. Good Luck.
On a side note, I seem to be having issues doing a "Add Networking". Trying to create a vswitch, change to max # of ports, set teaming to IP by HASH, then adding 4 Vlans to it. After reboot the whole thing is gone. Any body else?
Networking issue seems to be only when you set to 4088 Ports. Setting to 2040 or lower is OK.
Just completed my update to U3 and I also can confirm that the link is broken. Thanks.
Yep, link still broken. Alternative link http://ftpsite.vmware.com/download/vSphereClient/VMware-viclient-all-4.1.0-799345.exe also now useless!
Funny that:
http://vsphereclient.vmware.com/vsphereclient/7/9/9/3/4/5/VMware-viclient-all-4.1.0-799345.exe does not work, yet
http://vsphereclient.vmware.com/vsphereclient/7/8/6/1/1/1/VMware-viclient-all-5.1.0-786111.exe works just fine!
Come on VMware sort it out!
Sorry but I am currently on business in holland with limited access to email, if your enquiry is urgent then please call 01305 765432 where someone may be able to deal with your call.

We are aware of this problem and are actively working on a fix.
Our apologies for the inconvenience; I will post an update here as soon as I have something.
The competency level of VMware seems quite low this month. Seems simple to me, upload the damn file to the web server. To help all of those out there I put my copy of it up at http://rackman.netvulture.com/vmware/VMware-viclient-all-4.1.0-799345.exe
BTW - It took 2 full days to give a proper response to my support ticket (Support Request # 12217518709), and I did try to call in - twice - was on hold for 1.5 hours each time before I had to hang up to do other work. I hope that VMware management thoroughly chews out the QA team for both the lack of the client download link being put in place before the update is released for customers to install on to production systems, and also for the QA on the networking bug I mentioned in a previous post about using the maximum number of ports on a vSwtich where the vSwtich just disapears after reboot.
Enjoy The Link,
