Error opening performance charts

Setup info incase its needed, ESXi 5U1 plus patches

DL380G6 dual E5504's, 24GB ram, 8x 146GB SAS drives in raid 5

Now when I try to open the main performance charts I get the following error

Error:An internal error occurred in the vSphere Client.
Details: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Contact VMware support if necessary.

Then on problematic server --> restart vmware-mgmt service and try to connect.

If you can check in vCenter server as well, can narrow down the problem..

Oddly we have another server, a DL380G5 w/12GB ram 4x SAS drives in raid 5

and it doesn't give the error

Both servers are connected to same vCenter server or you are accessing using vi client??

Just the vi client

nether are connected to a vcenter server

Oddly enough after the weekend when I connected to the problematic one to look for away to do as said the graphs are now working.
