Error: Vsphere could not connect to host x.x.x.x

We have 4 ESXI hosts ( each managed individually with vsphere client with no Vcenter ) . One of our User can connect to our VPN(remotely) but could not able to connect to one of our ESXI host through vsphere client. (error: Vsphere could not coneect to host x.x.x.x, unknown error occurred ) and the  user unable to ping the same ESXI host too. While other users  are able to connect. his system firewall is off. no issue with IP address too. what can be the issue? thanks in advance.

If the user can't ping the management vmkernel port of this ESXi host, they won't be able to connect. It is, therefore, a networking problem and there are countless reasons this traffic could be failing. Without knowing more about your network design and configuration, it's impossible to know further.

Hi ,

Try to Ping to ESXi host Management IP  , also try to do ssh .

Try to access any other servers ( winnows or linux  which is hosted on esxi host or other which is available in you organization )

if working try to access esxi form there through vsphere client or putty , if not able to access reconnect or move to another networker and connect vpn  and try , still facing issue reach to networking team .

This might be VPN connectivity issue or  firewall blocking ports to access ESXi
