Error Installing Tape Library Drivers on VM

Hello,

I am stuck with a Tape Library Installation over VMWare ESXi 5.0.0. I was successful in adding the Tape Library to the VM (Windows Server 2003 X64 Bit).

I can view the tape library in the Device Manager (as an unknown device).

When i try to install the drivers the VM Hangs. All the resources are completely utilised. I tried it with 8GB RAM and 16 GB RAM. But the VM hangs in the middle of driver installtion.

Please Help.....Is there anythng I am missing.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks and Regards

Hi! Make sure the tape drive is connected to an Adaptec SCSI card, not a  RAID controller. For a list of supported Adaptec cards, search the HCL guide .

As written you must use a dedicated card.

And also you may need some specific rules with esxcli.

Check in the community for your card type.
