Entry level mother board

I'm trying to build an ESX server. I was looking at the S1400FP mother board and noticed newegg offers the S1400FP2. Has anyone had any experience with this board and ESX?

Any other recommendations for an entry level board for ESX? I want to stay with intel.

Hi,

I just check on the HCL : VMware Compatibility Guide: VMware Compatibility Guide: System Search, and your S1400FP2 is not listed. But S1400FP is listed. So for the moment, you should stay on your first choice. Because in case of failure, you will not be supported by the vmware support.

Julien

Yeah.. Sorry I didn't mean to be confusing. I saw the S1400FP on the HCL but newegg didn't offer it. They did however offer the S1400FP2. I didn't know whether any one had tried using it for ESX.

Based on HCL , S1400SP is supported http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php I would recommend going ahead and installing ESXi 5 on the server and monitor it for couple of days on test environment. But I wont recommend it on a prod environment.
