When I enable HA I get a host of messages.

can both the host resolve each other using DNS? also you can check this thread out: http://communities.vmware.com/thread/213521
Fixed it was an issue with the host file thanks for the post, I now get the error.
Virtual machines in the same Fault Tolerance pair cannot be on the same host.
great that all has being fixed 😃
Did you enable Fault tolerance on Virtual Machines.
You can disable the Fault tolerance in your maintenance time and re-enable it when the vm is in powered off state.
I hope this resolve the problem

I got a message relating to thin disks etc so I powered down the VM and enabled HA but the turning on Fault Tolarance task is taking an age, any ideas?
I can't seem to add points for the answers recived so far, I will try again later.
There is a known issue with the points system at the moment. VMware are aware and are working on it.
haha, do not forget about me. anyway we're here to help even without the points 😃
Thin provisioned disks cannot use Fault Tolerance. If you want to use FT you must thick provision.
For getting FT to work for VM's i highly recomend downloading and running the Site Survey utility located here:
http://www.vmware.com/download/shared_utilities.html
Install it on your VC box, select the cluster you want to scan, and you will then see a tab named "Site Survey". Once you run it, it will let you know if you meet all the requirements on that cluster for VM FT and will scan each VM and show which ones meet the requirements. Great utility.
