Enable Copy/Paste for New VMs

The related KB article solution worked for our ESXi 4.1 hosts, but the /etc/vmware/config changes do not propogate to new VMs on ESXi 5.0.0 (623860).

http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1026437

Has anyone had success modifying /etc/vmware/config to ensure these settings get pushed to new VMs on ESXi 5 hosts?

Thanks,

So you have modificated /etc/vmware/config file, restarted host and anyway copy/paste don't work in new VMs?

KB also says to restart the VM for the changes to take effect, Is it already done?

And recheck if the files is saved with the changes made and also try the settings on a VM running on esxi 5.0 and see if it works

Thanks for the quick responses and helpful input.

ESX1 /etc/vmware/config

isolation.tools.copy.disable="FALSE"
isolation.tools.paste.disable="FALSE"

ESX2 /etc/vmware/config

isolation.tools.copy.disable="TRUE"
isolation.tools.paste.disable="TRUE"

The behavior is that vMotion VM to either host picks up the appropriate setting without restart. I had only checked the VM configuration parameters. I suppose our compliance checks will now rely on /etc/vmware/config being set correctly vs individual virtual machine VMX settings.
