ESXi5 - VMs Storage Migration RDMS to NFS

Hi,

We are moving to vSphere5 on UCS blades, 10GbE networks and NFS datastores hosted on NetApp 3240.

There are several servers running with RDMs that we need to get rid and convert to NFS.

As we want to use exclusively NFS, I was wondering how the hell I could convert them easily.

Any best practices, tools, recommendations ?

Regards,

Eric

NFS cant be added as RDM. the option remaining is converting RDM to vmdk. while converting choose NFS datastore as target location. After this all VMfiles will be in NFS Datastore.

1. Add NFS datastore.

2. Follow the steps from the below URL and choose NFS Datastore as target.

As said, you will need to convert your RDMs into VMDKs. The KB http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1021836 explains how to do it in both ways.
