Hi ,

How to update esxi using esxcli method when only vSAN datastore is mounted to ESXi ? Can i upload esxi-offline.zip file directly to vSAN datastore and run esxcli command to update esxi ?

My vSphere cluster details are below,

Running ESXi version       -   6.5 U1 HPE-Custom image

Required ESXi version      - 6.5 U3 HPE-custom image

Datastore mounted           - vSAN datastore ( no other datastore's are available or mounted )

Cluster Features enabled - HA, DRS,vSAN

vSAN storage policy         - vSAN default storage policy ( FTT-1)

Kindly help me out !

Thanks,

Hi,

Thanks.

HPE-Custom image profile is installed and I have no idea how to get online depot of hp repository. There is no environment to do POC ,Esxcli has dry-run option which might help.

Adding to what irix said, you can download the official image for hp and import it to update manager. (also having the validation is helpfull to avoid breaking things)

this is the link for the image

This is the online repo for HP, maybe you can find details to add it directly

HPE Software Delivery Repository vibsdepot (aka HPE Online Depot)

You can import your HPE Custom ISO within VUM and add also the URL of the HPE Depot to VUM.  VUM performs prechecks as well when executing an Upgrade Baseline.
