I'm interested in the sysboot.log introduced with ESXi 4.x. Which process creates this logfile, is it one of the syslinux daemons? Which component 'owns' this log, Hostd?
Does this log file get directed to syslog when configured or are the events wrapped up in /messages?
Thanks in advance
Dave
Anyone?
even i am looking for the same answer
Hello Dave,
Hostd.log
: Host management service logs, including virtual machine and host Task and Events, communication with the vSphere Client and vCenter Server vpxa
agent, and SDK connections. You can redirect the logs to Syslog server however Retention, rotation and splitting of logs received and managed by a syslog server are fully controlled by that syslog server
