ESXi on a simple Workstation

Hy everbody!

i have a very funny problem with my esxi 4 installation.

I tested the esxi on a simple workstation with a gigabyte board, 4gb memory, a amd quadcore cpu, 2 e1000 nic´s.

Very fine the installation make no problem and the server runs up.

I think oay install the vsphere client und configure the server with a managemant ip.

so on i have the problem, i can not connect to the esxi with the client or the inet explorer but the ping response great. ??

Can i solve this Problem ?

Have any one a idea ?

Thanks a lot !

cya Reinhard

Since you have 2 NICs please check which NIC(vmnic0, vmnic1) is connected to the management network. Please goto F2 -> network conf on the ESXi console and check. Do you have any firewall (software or hardware) in between your VI client and ESXi machine?
