I'm working with an HP VSA.
I'm unable to get the ESXi server to see the newly provisioned LUN.
So far we done the following:
Configure VSA, P4000 SAN units with static IP addresses.
Import VSA ovf template.
Configured iScsi initiator on ESXi server.
On CMC:
Added VSA
added the 2 HP P4000 physical SAN units/arrays
Create clusters servers, volumes.
Assigned volume/luns to the server.
Configured the server with the iScsi name from the ESXi software adapter.
Created a VMKernel port on the ESXi server (virtual switch).
Rescan for Datastores.
Problem: The ESXi server is not seeing the volume/lun.
Any ideas?
Welcome to the Community,
Configured iScsi initiator on ESXi server.
in addition to enable iSCSI, did you also specify the VSA's IP address as "Send Targets" in the "Dynamic Discovery" tab of the iSCSI adapters properties?
André
Thanks for the suggestion...
we tried configuring the VSA's IP address as "Send Targets
and rescanned for data stores after but it is still an issue.
How did you configure the VMKernel port group for the iSCSI network? Did you configure an IP address in a dedicated IP subnet? Are you able to vmkping the VSA from the ESXi host's console?
André
Here is a good blog post on the setup: http://jreypo.wordpress.com/2010/04/17/add-iscsi-volumes-from-hp-p4000-vsa-to-vmware-esxi4/
