I have a client who is migrating storage from an ESXi 4.0 free version local datastore to an iSCSI datastore . This is a production iQstor SAN with 4 other virtual disks that present the proper size to their physical hosts including one at 450GB. I have created another virtual disk on the SAN at 450 GB. Using the ESXi iSCSI services and the host only sees the virtual disk as 199.75 GB. I have rescanned, removed, and recreated from the host side. I have removed and recreated from the SAN side with no change. Any ideas?
Welcome to the Communities. I don't see anything in the Knowledgebase. I would think this should be a question best directed to you SAN vendor.
Thanks I'll give them a call before I go any further.
Let us know how it works out.
The iQstor 1250 is approximately a 6 year old platform. We've purchased a 2850 (which is VMware certified) and are in the process of migrating to it. Unfortunately the issue couldn't be overcome any other way.
As far as I can see it is not on the VMware HCL which could explain the behavior you are seeing unfortunately.
