ESXi hangs when booting at "Initialzing storage stack"

I asked this on /r/vmware before but I'll also ask this here.

Okay so I have a small homelab where I run a few VMs on my ESXi box. I have added some extra hardware that I wanted to Pass-through to a VM and realised it didn't support VT-d in the BIOS. I contacted Gigabyte and they sent me a version of the BIOS where I could enable VT-d. I have tried absolutely everything to get it to boot correctly after the BIOS update to no avail.

Does anyone have an tips on how I can resolve this?

The Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3 with an i7 860.

Thanks in advance.

So what exactly is the issue. You cannot boot after the BIOS upgrade. Or you can boot the host, but cannot enable VMDirectPath I/O?

Hi,

Where do you have your ESXi installed?? Local disks?? USB??

Try this: BIOS > Boot > CSM Parameters and set “Launch CSM” to Disabled
