ESXi files

Hi guys,

i'm experiencing the 1st real face to face installations of ESXi and i'm suprised about diffference between ESX.

Now i was looking for a vmdk file on a local datastore where to look for the ESXi core installation but i could not find anything...
I have installed ESXi on a SAN lun, now i have this LUN in my list of datastores and i have it empty...

How does it work ? invisible files not present on SAN LUN?

invisible files not present on SAN LUN?

Well, that's real virtualization, isn't it? Smiley Wink

ESXi does not have a service console and therefore needs a lot less disk space. You can even run it on a 1 (one) GB USB stick or SD card.

To take a look at the partitioning, e.g. log in to the tech support console and run fdisk -lu.
