ESXi download

Hi

I have downloaded ESXi 4.1 in my previous company which was free. As far as I know if I require some feature such as vMotion, DRS, Clustering then only paid license is required. I am just trying to have ESXi to create VMs. And will go for additional feature license as requirement arises. This time I have registered for evaluation download but not getting download option. Can one please help finding and downloading free ESXi 4.1 or 5.1 version

You can start at this link for the download of ESXi 5.x - https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/evalcenter?p=free-esxi5&lp=default.  You'll need to register before you download.  Even with the free edition you have to enter a license number which you'll get on the "License and Download" page.   Should you decide to move to a paid edition,  you'll just have to change the license key.

Mr, Dave is this ESXi 5 image is hardware independent. Last time I used  ESXi 4.1 image that was for HP blades. Cause I took the standrard one and got installation error then i downloaded image for HP blades and got rid of the error.

Now this link does not have images for vairous hardware such as IBM, Dell, or HP.

Thanks

Raofu

Hi,

ESXi image is hardware independent. But if your hardware vendor releases custom images, it is advisable to use the vendor specific custom image. You should download custom image in vendor's own link.
