ESXi can't add back to vCenter

We have a few ESXi hosts at our branch office that were previously added into our vCenter thru VPN connection. However, these ESXi hosts were disconnected from our vCenter after a reboot was done on our vCenter. The VPN connection is working fine as we have no problem connecting directly to individual ESXi host thru the VI Client. We have also disabled the firewall in the vCenter to ensure that it is not port inaccessibility issue. What else could be the possible cause?

Is the FQDN of that ESXi server resolvable from the vCenter, and the vcenter IP resolvable from the ESXi host?
