ESXi and Lab Manager - does not support smbmount

Hi all,

I posted this in the Lab Manager forums thinking it was a Lab Manager issue.

http://communities.vmware.com/message/1601940#1601940

However, the response was that it seemed to require a change in ESXi, which makes a bit of sense given the error message. Here's the issue:

When I try to export VMs from Lab Manager I get an error saying that the hosts are ESXi and do not support smbmount:

vCenter Lab Manager cannot find any suitable host connected to the datastore for this operation.

Host "nameofhost" is an ESXi host and does not support smbmount.

I'm currently running 4.0 update 1 on ESXi and vCenter, and Lab Manager is 4.0.1. I have not seen anything in the update notes regarding this functionality.

Is it in the development roadmap, or is there some workaround? Please...this is rapidly becoming a source of pain for me.

Thanks!

I am running into this issue as well since we just replaced our last ESX host with ESXi (v4.1, Update1). Would like some sort of resolution since exporting VM's out is a very common occurrence for us.
