ESXi PXE Chainboot in UEFI

I'm trying to bring ESXi into an automated deployment solution using Foreman. In order to do that I need to chainboot from a bootloader into the BOOTX64.EFI

I have found this is not possible via syslinux/pxelinux and GRUB2 for various reasons.

I need to be able to dynamically provide boot files.

Is there a solution supported by VMWare?

Welcome to the VMware Communities!

Just to be clear, you are talking about chain-booting ESXi itself in UEFI mode on physical hardware so that you can run VMs on the deployed ESXi host, not chain-booting another guest OS in UEFI mode in a VM running on ESXi, right?

Either way, it would help perhaps if you gave a bit more detail about what you have attempted, and the error messages or barriers you encountered along the way.

Please also identify the ESXi version you are using -- and perhaps the versions of any third-party components you are using, too.

Cheers,
