ESXi Issue deleting LUN w/PowerpathVE

Hi all,

We're encountering the following error message while attempting to delete VMAX LUN's. Even after placing the host in maint mode, ensuring no I/O is going to the LUN, all VM's migrated off, etc, attemtping to remove it fails with this message:

"Call "HostDatastoreSystem.RemoveDatastore" for object "datastoreSystem-1489" on vCenter Server "vc1.xxxxxxxx.net" failed."

Am thinking there's something holding onto to this from the PP side, but not sure -Wondering if anyone else might have run into this. Thanks.

Hello.

Have you tried removing it while connected directly to the host, as opposed to through vCenter?

Good Luck!

Are you sure there is nothing left in the datastore?  No ISOs or anything like that?  If you Browse Datastore, do you see any directories remaining, or is the volume empty?  Just covering the obvious stuff here....

Is your remote or local TSM enabled.  Has anyone logged in and is in that folder from the console?

Go to Inventory and then Datastores and choose the datastore you are trying to remove.  Next, select the Virtual Machines tab.  Anything listed there?
